讲座人介绍：

Dirk KUTSCHER现任香港科技大学（广州）助理教授，他曾是德国Emden/Leer应用科技大学教授，也在华为德国研究中心引领IoT 网络研究。他目前联合主持两个互联网研究任务组，一个是以信息为中心的网络，另一个为去中心化的互联网基础架构。Dirk发布了诸多互联网工程任务组请求意见稿，著作以及关于互联网技术等研究报告。他博士毕业于Bremen大学。此前，Dirk是NEC欧洲实验室的网络首席研究员，并曾在日本KDDI研发实验室担任访问研究员。

讲座内容：

Distributed Machine Learning, social AR/VR and other emerging applications raise thequestion of how networks can support distributed applications better. This talkdiscusses the potential and the challenges for "Computing in the Network" – anattempt to integrate computing and networking to create more elastic and resilientinfrastructure for applications. We review the state of the art for Computing in theNetwork and introduce a new research direction called "Compute-First Networking".
