报告1:A Novel Signal Waveform for High-Mobility Communications -OTFS

讲座人介绍:

袁伟杰博士现任南方科技大学电子与电气工程系副研究员。于2019年在澳大利亚悉尼科技大学获博士学位,之后在新南威尔士大学担任研究员,2021年回国加入南方科技大学电子系。曾于2016年,2018年和2019年分别在奥地利维也纳技术大学、澳大利亚悉尼大学、伍伦贡大学和英国南安普顿大学从事研究工作。主要研究方向为车联网通信、智能交通、统计信号处理、下一代移动通信(6G)、网络定位与跟踪等,目前在领域顶级期刊和国际会议上发表学术论文50篇。担任了多个国际学术期刊和学术会议的审稿人和技术程序委员会(TPC)成员,作为共同主席(Co-Chair)或共同组织者(Co-organizer)在IEEE ICC, VTC, SPAWC, ICCC等国际会议上组织了多项专题研讨会和特别分会,是IEEE感知通信一体化特别兴趣小组(SIG)和新兴技术倡议委员会(ETI)的创始成员。

讲座内容:

Communications in high mobility scenarios suffer from severe Doppler spreads, which deteriorate the performance of the widely adopted orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) modulation in the current 4G and 5G networks. Recently, a new two-dimensional modulation scheme referred to as orthogonal time frequency space (OTFS) was proposed, where the information symbols are multiplexed in the Delay-Doppler (DD) domain. OTFS provides the possibility to embrace localized delay and Doppler impairments and converts time-frequency selective channels into an invariant channel in the DD domain. More importantly, OTFS enjoys the full time-frequency diversity of the channel, which is the key to provide reliable transmissions for the future 6G and high mobility communications. This talk will unveil the fundamentals of OTFS modulation and introduce some recent advances.

 


报告2:OTFS Waveform for High-Mobility Communications: Window Design and Channel Estimation

讲座人介绍:

魏志强,2012年毕业于西北工业大学航海学院信息对抗技术系,2015年获得全额奖学金赴澳大利亚新南威尔士大学无线通信专业学习,并于2019年获得博士学位(导师:原进宏教授)。2019年6月-2021年3月,他继续在新南威尔士大学从事博士后研究工作。2021年3月,他受德国亚历山大-洪堡基金会资助,在Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg从事博士后研究工作(导师:Robert Schober)。他的主要研究兴趣是非正交多址接入,无人机通信,和正交时间频率空间调制在无线通信中的系统方案设计及优化。目前,他已在IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications, IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, IEEE Transactions on Communications, IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology 等通信领域顶级期刊发表论文19篇。曾获2018年国际通信大会“最佳论文奖”(由IEEE通信学会颁发)。

讲座内容:

The sixth-generation (6G) wireless networks are envisioned to provide a global coverage for the intelligent digital society of the near future, ranging from traditional terrestrial to non-terrestrial networks, where reliable communications in high-mobility scenarios at high carrier frequencies would play a vital role. In such scenarios, the conventional orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) modulation, that has been widely used in both the fourth-generation (4G) and the emerging fifth-generation (5G) cellular systems as well as in WiFi networks, is vulnerable to severe Doppler spread. In this context, this talk aims to introduce a recently proposed two-dimensional modulation scheme referred to as orthogonal time-frequency space (OTFS) modulation, which conveniently accommodates the channel dynamics via modulating information in the delay-Doppler domain.

 


报告3:Recent Advances on OTFS Modulation: Performance Analysis and Signal Detection

讲座人介绍:

李双洋,分别于2013年,2016年,以及2021年在亚博足彩获得学士、硕士、以及博士学位。目前,他在新南威尔士大学从事相关研究工作(导师:原进宏教授)。他的主要研究兴趣是面向未来移动通信的波形设计,以及信息与编码理论、编码调制技术的相关内容。目前他已在领域著名期刊和国际会议上发表学术论文30余篇,并是多个领域顶级期刊的审稿人。李双洋博士担任了多个国际学术会议的审稿人并以技术程序委员会 (TPC) 成员或共同主席(Co-Chair)的身份在IEEE ICC,Globecom,ICCC,ICCT等会议上参了多项专题研讨会。

讲座内容:

Orthogonal time frequency space (OTFS) modulation has attracted substantial attention recently. It has demonstrated superior performance compared to the conventional orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) modulation in the high-Doppler scenarios. Therefore, it has been widely acknowledged as a potential key enabler for emerging applications, such as unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and low-earth-orbit (LEO) satellites. In this presentation, we will summarize some recent advances on OTFS modulation, with a specific focus on its performance analysis with channel coding and signal detection. In particular, we will unveil the trade-off between the coding gain and diversity gain for OTFS modulation. We will also discuss how the unitary transformations between different domains, such as the time-delay domain and the delay-Doppler domain, can help the signal detection.
